Appraisal of special education for social reforms and national security in Nigeria
Abstract
This paper discussed appraisal of special education and social reforms for national security in Nigeria. Special education is a customized educational programme designed to meet the unique needs of special persons. This work looks at reform as process that begins with problem identification, analysis, evaluation and continuation or termination of the programme. It involves the development of policy alternatives experimentation and feedback. For any nation to fully develop, there is the need to harness the potentials of her citizens including those with disabilities. For security of citizens, the government must help the less privileged, the poor and the mentally retarded. Through this, those involved might change and eradicate poverty in the environment.
