Aspects cliniques de l’infertilite masculine a l’Hopital Central de Yaounde
Abstract
Objective: Male infertility is defined as the inability of a male to make a fertile female pregnant, also for a minimum of at least one year of unprotected intercourse. Our objective was to describe the clinical aspects of male infertility at the Yaounde Central Hospital.
Methodology: This was one year observational study at the Urology and Andrology Department of the Yaounde Central Hospital on male consulting for infertility. Results: Out of our 80 patients, 61.2% of patients had primary infertility. Alcohol consumption was found in 58.21% of patients and 19.4% were smokers. 44.78% had no medical or surgical history. Varicoceles were found in 46.27%. Conclusion: Primary infertility was the most common type of infertility and varicocele was a frequent cause.
