Personnel Requirement for Effective School Library Service in the Implementation of Universal Basic Education Programme in Nigeria
Abstract
The objectives and scope of the Universal basic Education were discussed the junctions of the School Library service in support of the education programme in the school and the staff requirement for the effective proformance of the functions were also discussed the various designations usedfor librarians in schools in countries of the world and their qualifications were examined, and definite designation and qualifications were for librarians in Nigerian schools. The strategies for gelling qualified teacher-librarians and other school library personnel for Nigerian schools for the effective implementation of the Universal Basic Education Programme were highlighted and definite proposals were made to guide the UBE programme implementers.
