Different Element Methods in Engineering Practice
Abstract
Presented is the most common element methods used for analysis in engineering. The methods are discussed in an overall and general manner so that engineers and scientists who are increasingly, called upon to use element methods to support and check their analyses and/or designs can appreciate the essential dierences and similarities in the various methods and their possible advantages and disadvantages. The aim is also to provide a background for numerical analyst who although an expert in one element method may be unfamiliar with other methods.
