Age of Opportunity: Lessons from the new science of adolescence
Abstract
Age of Opportunity is an accessible, evidence-based and practical guide to adolescence for parents, clinicians, educators; in fact, for any person who affects the lives of adolescents, and particularly policy makers. The author, Laurence Steinberg, is a developmental psychologist who is Distinguished Professor in Psychology at Temple University in Philadelphia, USA, and has a correspondingly impressive oeuvre. For those who have not previously encountered his work, a quick Internet search will be an eye-opener. Most importantly, Steinberg is a long-serving advocate for the fair and evidence-based treatment of adolescents in the labour, educational and justice fields.
