Author Guidelines
DENTISCOPE is a peer review journal of Dental Students of the University of Ibadan, under the auspices of the DENTISCOPE Editorial Board, which is an autonomous organization.
Submissions undergo a two tier process. They are screened initially by our editorial staff for overall quality and interest and then undergo review by our Editorial Consultants in the field.
Statements, data or opinions are those of the authors; accordingly, the editorial board accepts no liabilities whatsoever of the consequences of such opinions.
Manuscript could be:
- Original article
- Special articles by invitation
- Review articles
- Case reports/book review
- Correspondence
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Articles should be brief and not exceed 3000 words
- Articles should be double spaced and all the titles numbered
- Title pages should include names, titles, and affiliations off the author(s)
- Summary- a short summary of methods, results and conclusions
- Keywords not more than 10
- Body of article
- Discussion
- Acknowledgements
- References – arrangement is based on the Vancouver style.
- An electronic copy of the article should be submitted at the specified date to the production manager.
TABLE AND ILLUSTRATIONS
- Gloss black and white photographs are requested
- Table should be numbered consecutively in roman numeric and illustrations numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals.
- Drawings should be in black Indian ink on white paper
- Colour illustration could be published at the expense of the author
ORIGINAL ARTICLES
All the materials should be submitted to the editorial board along with the articles sent for publication.
Finally, the advisory board and editorial board reserves the right to accept or reject articles and can cut down long articles or ask the author off such articles to shorten them.
SUBMISSION
- All the materials should be submitted to the Editorial Board with the articles sent for publications.
- Manuscripts can be submitted in duplicate in a heavy paper envelope accompanied by a covering letter signed by all co- authors and by a C.D. of the text in Microsoft word.
