Abstract

The study investigated the management of innovative educators’ characteristics as predictors of entrepreneurship education objective  achievement in secondary schools in Rivers State. The study was guided by three research questions and three hypotheses. The study  adopted a correlation research design with a population of 7314 teachers in 274 senior public secondary schools in Rivers State. The  sample size of 366 teachers was drawn through simple random sampling technique representing 5% of the population. Two instruments  titled Management of Innovative Educators’ Attitude, Interest and Self-concept Scale and Entrepreneurship Education Objective Achievement Scale were used for data collection. Face and content validities were ensured by experts. The internal consistency reliability  coefficients of .81 and .88 were determined for two questionnaires respectively and through Cronbach alpha. Simple regression was used  to answer the research questions while t-test associated with simple regression was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of  significance. It was found that proper management of innovative educators’ characteristics such as attitude, interest and self-concept  significantly predicted sustainable entrepreneurship objective achievement in secondary schools in Rivers State. It was recommended  that the teachers as educational implementers should cultivate positive attitude, sterling interest and repose high self-confidence on  their competence and expertise in the discharge of their statutory obligation for the actualization of sustainable entrepreneurship  objective achievement in secondary schools in Rivers State.
