Evaluation of education of the Nigerian child: The way forward
Abstract
This paper is aimed at highlighting some of the challenges of effective evaluation, assessment and testing in the education of Nigerian child for the attainment of sustainable development goals. It identified factors such as poor standard of living, indiscipline, poor quality teaching/learning, poor funding, population explosion, assessment procedures, gender inequality, poor quality assessment instruments, wrong use of test/examination results and politicization of education among others as factors responsible for these constraints. This paper concluded with some suggestions which will go a long way in ameliorating the obstacles encountered in educational evaluation in the management of innovative education for the attainment of sustainable development goals.
