Innovative teachers and improved learning outcomes

Abstract

This paper establishes the relationship between innovative teaching and improved learning outcomes in students. The scholars herein  present the teacher as a primary facilitator of Education process. They equally identified Educational learning outcomes as the attitudes,  skills and knowledge acquired by the learner from the teacher, that make him more resourceful to himself and capable of meaningful  contribution to national development. This paper equally presents expository of the 21st century social, political and economic challenges  that are creating uncertainties and complexities in the world at large and Nigeria in particular. It reveals the responsibility of  Education to equip individuals with capacities for overcoming these challenges and be able to compete favourably at international  human capital markets. For Education to overcome these challenges, novelty, creativity, and integration of global contents into teaching and learning is inevitable. The scholars concluded with suggestions for innovative education, particularly in the teaching profession to  produce improve learning outcomes that would equip graduates with developmental attitude, functional skills and analytical knowledge  for surviving in this millennium.
