Abstract

The study investigated the process of integrating internationalization in tertiary education service delivery for achieving sustainable development in southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria. It is a descriptive survey. A sample size of 295 academic and administrative staff was selected through simple random sampling technique from seven higher education institutions within the five states that make up southeast geopolitical zone. An Instrument titled “Integrating Internationalization in Tertiary Education Service Delivery for Sustainable Development Questionnaire (IITESDSDQ)” was used for data collection. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while t-test was used to test the hypothesis. The study revealed that the internalization of the core activities of tertiary education can guarantee sustainable development. It was therefore recommended that academic staff should be trained annually on requisite pedagogical skills of international standard by international resources group for improving service delivery and contributing to sustainable development in southeast geopolitical zone.
