Organizational reward and job perforfmance of non teaching staff in Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke, Osun State Nigeria
Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the impact of organizational reward on job performance of non-teaching staff in Osun state college of technology Esa-Oke. The population for the study was 214, the total number of nonteaching staff in the school. Simple Random sampling technique was used to select sample size, 50% amounting to 1O7 respondents of the total population was selected. The instruments for this study was self-design questionnaire tagged Organizational Reward and Employee Job Performance Questionnaire. Five research questions and one hypothesis were raised to guide the study. While descriptive statistics was used to analyze research questions, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was us to test the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The study findings revealed the significant effects of organizational reward on job performance of non-teaching staff in Osun state college of technology, Esa –Oke. The researcher recommends among other things that, the policy making body of the institutions should ensure that employee rewards are clearly spelt out in the remuneration policy and effectively implemented, the school management should liaise with appropriate quarters in ensuring that staff promotion takes effects with financial benefits, management should provide incentive like training and career development opportunity for staff to improve on their job performance and for the enhancement of their career progression, and finally, the management should improve on the medical/ health care incentive being given to the staff for them to improve their service delivery.
