Managing teachers’ digital competence for quality instructional delivery in secondary schools in Nigeria
Abstract
Teachers’ digital competence is the set of knowledge, skills and attitudes that should be acquired by all teachers in order to ensure critical and creative use of digital technology and its application in the achievement of goals and objectives. In order to make learning and teaching effective, all teachers should become familiar with the following digital competence areas: digital information literacy, digital communication, digital content-creation, digital safety and digital problem-solving. This paper focused on the ways of managing teachers’ digital competence and the challenges faced by school mangers in managing teachers’ digital competence for quality instructional delivery in secondary schools in Nigeria. Conclusion and suggestions are made to guide government and other stakeholders on the ways teachers’ digital competence can be managed for quality instructional delivery in secondary schools in Nigeria.
