Concept and Background of OTEC and the Case for Mauritius (A Preliminary Study)

Abstract

This paper puts in perspective the progress achieved in the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion concept and  makes a plea for such a power plant for Mauritius. The potential exists. Sites have been identified and an  economic analysis for a 2 MW plant is proposed. It becomes much more attractive in the higher power range.
