Consommation d’alcool en milieu scolaire: Cas des lycéens de la Commune VI du District de Bamako

Abstract

La consommation d’alcool prend de l’ampleur chez les élèves. Cette étude avait pour objet d’identifier des facteurs liés à la consommation d’alcool chez les lycéens de Bamako. Une étude transversale descriptive et analytique a été réalisée du 19 décembre 2016 au 19 Janvier 2017. Un sondage aléatoire à trois degrés a été utilisé. Un questionnaire a été administré aux lycéens de façon volontaire. Les données ont été saisies et analysées sur SPSS 20. Les tests chi2 de Pearson, Fisher et Yates ont été utilisés avec un seuil ≤ 0,05. Parmi les enquêtés 9,3% consommaient de l’alcool, environ 58,3 % des lycéens étaient de sexe féminin avec un âge moyen de 16,71±1,81 ans. Parmi les consommateurs d’alcool, 18,4 % avaient commencé entre 17-19 ans et 92,6 % savaient sa nuisance. La consommation d’alcool était associée à : âge ≥17 ans (p = 0,0418) ; sexe masculin (p = 0,0329) ; classe de 12^e (p = 0,0324) ; statut - marié (p= 0,0396), consommation d’alcool dans l’entourage (p = 0,0529) et avoir une appréciation positive de la consommation d’alcool (p = 0,0038). Les facteurs identifiés contribueront à développer des stratégies de lutte contre la consommation d’alcool dans les lycées à Bamako.

English Title: Alcohol consumption in schools: Case of high school students of the Municipality VI of the District of Bamako

English Abstract

Alcohol use is increasing among students. The purpose of this study was to identify factors related to alcohol consumption among high school students in Bamako. A descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study was conducted from December 19, 2016 to January 19, 2017. A three-stage random survey was used. A questionnaire was administered to high school students on a voluntary basis. Data were captured and analyzed on SPSS 20. Pearson, Fisher and Yates chi2 tests were used with a 0.05 threshold. Among respondents, 9.3% drank alcohol Approximately 58.3% of high school students were female with an average age of 16.71 1.81 years. Among alcohol users, 18.4% had started between 17 and 19 years of age; 92.6% knew of its nuisance. Alcohol consumption was associated with: age 17 (p = 0.0418); male sex (p = 0.0329); class 12 (p = 0.0324); status - married (p = 0.0396), alcohol consumption in the environment (p = 0.0529) and have a positive appreciation of alcohol consumption (p = 0.0038). Identified factors will contribute to developing strategies to fight alcohol consumption in high schools in Bamako.
