SICT Skills and Internet Usage by Undergraduates of Library and Information Science Schools in Delta and Edo States, Nigeria
Abstract
The study examined ICT skills and internet usage of undergraduates of Library and Information Science Departments in Delta and Edo States. The descriptive design was employed for the study. The sample consists of 238 undergraduates. The questionnaire was used to collect data from respondents. Findings revealed that there was no significant relationship between the ICT skills possessed by undergraduates ofLIS Departments in Delta and Edo states and their internet usage. However, the undergraduates possessed ICT skills and adequately make use of the Internet. The findings also revealed that the most popular way of acquiring ICT skills by the undergraduates was self-taught with manuals and handbook, through courses of study at the university and friends.
