The concept of God in Christian philosophy

K I Anthony

Abstract

The different stages of the evolution of human history have made enormous attempts at understanding the concept of God. Tracing this study through the historical evolution of philosophy: from the Ancient to the Contemporary era, one would say that it remained distorted during the Ancient era, beautifully synthesized during the Medieval epoch and early periods of the Modern era, though still imperfect; however, under crisis during the most parts of the modern period and the Contemporary Season. This piece is concerned with a philosophical cum theological analysis of the concept of God. It first goes through the history of philosophy to discover the place of God in each of the philosophical epochs. It studies the entitative and operative attributes of God, and place of religious experience in the whole of the quest for a concept of God.
