A rare case of Hirschsprung's disease in a young Nigerian man
Abstract
This is a case of a 21-year-old man who presented with history of chronic constipation that was relieved by enemas and laxatives. Barium enema and Abdominal CT scan done shows features suggestive of Hirchsprung's disease which was histologically confirmed following rectal biopsy and histology. He was successfully managed using the Duhamel's surgical pull through procedure with no immediate or delayed post operative complications.
