Unusual bilaterally fused teeth in permanent dentition of a 9 -year old boy - A case report
Abstract
The presence of bilateral fusion of teeth in permanent dentition is an unusual and rare condition. It is a developmental anomaly characterized by the union of two separate tooth germs during formation. The case of a 9 year old boy with fusion of permanent maxillary central incisors with associated bilateral disto-palatal rotation was examined.
The fused maxillary incisors were treated conservatively using an aesthetic restorative material. The purpose of this report is to review the literature related to bilateral fused maxillary permanent teeth and its aesthetic treatment.
