Fine needle aspiration cytology diagnosis of cutaneous sporotrichosis and Review of literature
Abstract
We report a case of cutaneous sporotrichosis diagnosed on fine needle aspiration cytology. The cytologic findings had features which included presence of fungal elements compatible with Sporothrix morphology that allowed a correct diagnosis in our case. It is concluded that the FNA cytology of sporotrichosis is characteristic and can allow a confirmed diagnosis of it.
