Keloids and hypertrophic scars: review and therapeutic modalities
Abstract
Hypertrophic scars and Keloids are exuberant fibrous repair tissues following cutaneous injury. A hypetrophic scar remains confined to the site of original injury, keloids however extend beyond this site often with a claw-like extensions. This review is focusing in details on keloids and hypertrophic scars, the pathophysiology, epidemiology, aetiology, clinical features, complications and the management options.
