President's message on the first issue of the Southern Hemisphere Forestry Journal
Abstract
Evolution is the way of life and with new times come new demands. This new journal is not a replacement, but the continuation of a tradition and a tool that forms an important part of what we as an institute represent. In this process we will enhance the scientific credibility of the journal, which will provide a sustainable solution for the long-term publishing of the journal, which, in itself, will promote and sustain the objectives of the Institute, i.e. the promotion of the interests of theforestry professional.
On behalf of the Council, I wish to extend my sincerest gratitude to, in the first place, Dennis Owen and Colin Smith for making this possible. I also wish to thank NISC for their patience and understanding and a great salute to our members that have supported this initiative and will continue to do so for many decades to come.
