The current study aimed to identify the relationship between poor motivation for sports performance and exposure to sports injuries among young soccer players in Algeria. The study sample consisted of 30 players from the under-19 category who were randomly chosen from clubs in the city of Bou Saada. With a descriptive approach, we used the Achievement Motivation Scale and a special form to control the nature and number of injuries sustained by players. The results indicated that there is a strong correlation between injury recurrence and lack of motivation for sports performance among young soccer players. In addition, there is a correlation between the degree of sensation of physical pain derived from a sports injury and the lack of motivation for sports performance among young soccer players.
Mourad Ahmedi Copyright (c) 2024 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-07-26 2024-07-26 6 1 03 11 The Impact of Athletic Brands on Arab Youth Perceptions of Israel: A Review of Sports Diplomacy in Social Science https://www.ajol.info/index.php/sej/article/view/274622
This research offers an Arab view point from the academic fieldwork on the nexus between sports diplomacy and social science. The research examines the impact of sports diplomacy through athletic brands on youth perceptions of Israel in the Arab region. 113 Arab students in four Egyptian and Palestinian Universities were surveyed, through mixed-methods research directed by thematic analysis to examine students’ perceptions of Israel based on the political stance of Arab athletes competing against Israeli athletes at sports mega events. Responses indicate that Arab athletes' conduct towards Israeli counterparts in the realm of sports diplomacy had a significant impact on students' perspectives, predominantly fostering unfavorable impressions of Israel. According to the research, there is a gap between youth opinions and the policies of the respective governments. The research concludes that sports boycott is effective in resisting occupation, and that sports and politics are indivisible as the animosity embedded in the Arab-Israeli conflict reflected on respondents’ preferences and emphasized collective national identity among students in the four universities, that linked competition with Israeli athletes to the perception of Israel as enemy. Therefore, the idea of sports normalization appears to be a myth.
Nora Maher Copyright (c) 2024 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-07-26 2024-07-26 6 1 12 27 The Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on Brand Equity via Structural Modeling: A Case Study of Mobile Phone Users in Laghouat https://www.ajol.info/index.php/sej/article/view/274623
This study aimed to determine the impact of corporate social responsibility on the brand equity of mobile phone users. Structural equations served as a primary methodology and experimental approach, employing various advanced methods and techniques within the humanities domain. The study delineated its parameters through an independent variable encompassing corporate social responsibility to stockholders, the environment, customers, and the local community, while brand equity served as the dependent variable. To fulfill these objectives, a questionnaire was formulated and distributed to a sample comprising 354 subjects. The gathered data underwent analysis using SMARTPLS software. The findings revealed a significant effect of corporate social responsibility, accounting for approximately 32.2%, on the brand equity of the Ooredoo company. Consequently, the study recommends that companies invest in CSR activities to foster a sustainable brand and attain enhanced brand equity.
Hachemi Baadj Hadjer Bouakkaz Copyright (c) 2024 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-07-26 2024-07-26 6 1 28–41 28–41 Electronic Sports Media, and Political Factors in the Phenomenon of Growing Violence in Stadiums: a Semiological Reading of a Sample of Sports Media Pages (Twitter Platform - as a Model) https://www.ajol.info/index.php/sej/article/view/274624
This study aims to address the phenomenon of the growing sports media violence in the digital space in light of the political changes via the “Twitter” platform, through tweets and publications of sports media, within a number of indications, symbols and meanings that constitute violence by them consciously or unconsciously. The purpose of our work was to determine the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of patients admitted to medicalsurgical emergencies for attempted suicide. We report a descriptive study of 44 cases of attempted suicide admitted to the medico-surgical emergency department of the public hospital Mohamed BOUDIAF Ouargla, during 12 months. The main diagnosis, of the patients included, was a suicide attempt by voluntary intoxication or autolysis. In this study, the female sex was most represented (59%) with sex-ratio = 0, 69. The age group of 16 to 21 was the most represented (32%). The majority of suicides have a low level of instruction (average with a 43 %), 77 % are unemployed and 61 % of singles. The majority of suicidal resided in an urban area, 18% have particular organic affection and 27% have special psychopsychiatric affection. 45% of suicides have special toxic habits (32% tobacco, 23% psychotropics). 68 % of patients have an exposure to other suicide in the entourage, the ingestion of the caustic was the most used autolysis means at 30 % followed by the '32% drug poisoning. The impulsiveness and the problems of the couple represent the causes of the most found act in 28 % of cases for each. 59% of suicides make TS for the first time and 41% are ≥ 2 times. 64% of suicides have persistent suicidal ideas and that 66% of patients regret their suicidal gesture. The results of our study only reinforce the importance of researching them predictive and precipitating risk factors for suicidal behavior and this, in order to allow prevention, early diagnosis and adaptive management to improve symptomatology, avoid complications and maximally prevent risk from the passage to the self-lytic act.
Soumya Bait Copyright (c) 2024 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-07-26 2024-07-26 6 1 71–83 71–83 The impact of the Indochinese war on America: A Sociopolitical Perspective https://www.ajol.info/index.php/sej/article/view/274629
This paper presents a comprehensive historical analysis of the American entanglement in Indochina and its profound sociopolitical impact on the American society.
