Abstract

A much-needed classification system for Cultural History was developed to facilitate the organisation of a research centre or cultural historical archives which accommodate a variety of source material with regard to type as well as content. The system can also be applied by researchers in the arrangement of a large body of information gained in the research process. It consists of an alphabetical glossary (not included in this article) and a framework of themes and sub-themes which, in addition to the abovementioned purposes, is of great assistance to understand the extent of the discipline of Cultural History.
