About the Journal
Sources of Support
The journal is owned by the South African Chemical Society (www.saci.co.za) and they currently fund the journal.
Peer Review
The Editor-in-chief scan all submissions to ensure the submission adheres to the instructions to authors. All papers are scanned for plagiarism (Turnitin) according to the plagiarism policy. Papers that are clear will then be assigned to one of the Science editors (members of the editorial board). Science editors make a decision on the paper and can recommend earlyrejection, with provision of reasons. Submissions are sent to referees (blind) who provide a referee report. We expect two quality reports to make a decision. Rejection by one referee lead to Rejection of the paper. Major changes by one referee leads to resubmission and those manuscript are sent back to all referees for subsequent examination. Science editors make the final decision about acceptance based on at least two positive referee reports.
