Verb conjugation in Arabic

Abstract

Verbs conjugation in Arabic poses many problems related to the diversity of their classifications. This diversity lies in the variation in verb conjugation that causes problems to learners whom are unable in most time to make the right conjugation. In this paper, we present a first version of an automatic conjugator of Arabic verbs developed at the Institute for the Studies and Researches on Arabization in Rabat. This system is in Java language, and is characterized by accuracy, is easy to use, and is a good reference compared to many books of morphology. Moreover, the system is stem-based unlike the other systems that are root-based. In this paper, we will focus on the rules involved in our work, in a similar way to their processing, without going into details to the Arab grammarians proposals.
