Knowledge society: or reading in information revolution in the globalization era

Abstract

This article deals with the knowledge society elements and its characteristics. It also copes with the contributive role of communication technologies in achieving the new society through its economic, political, and sociological applications. Beside, this article analyses the information culture impact on all fields of life and this is what gives really considerable importance to the role of information within society.In addition to that, it reveals the relationship between the globalization and information, since the development occurring at the information revolution level contributes to the unification of humanity, one of the globalization targets. So if the society resulting information technologies is a society which produces, consumes, publishes and controls knowledge, it will lead, by the way, people’s urban path.
