Teaching staff’s situation at using the International network Internet as a source of information in Jordan private universities
Abstract
The study aimed to study the situation of using the internet as a source of information by the teaching staff members in the private universities in Jordan. In this study, the researchers used all the procedures and the tools in collecting his data such as observation, interviewing, and surveying. The survey was the major tool in collecting the data, and it was subject to development and verification. The subjects of the study were 1949 university teachers with various titles: Full Prof., Associate Prof., Assistant Prof., and Teacher. They teach in various colleges. The sample subjects of the study were 400 university teachers working in the private universities of the university year 2009-2010. The results of the study were analysed by using the descriptive counting procedure, the analytical procedure, the repetition procedure, arithmetic mean, percentages, and normative deviation. The results were also presented in statistical tables and proper diagrams. The most important type of difficulties that the university teacher encounters are: The administrative difficulties, those difficulties related to how to use the internet, some personal difficulties, and some technical difficulties.
