Abstract

Cette étude consiste d’analyser le phénomène de monoparentalité dans la ville province de Kinshasa en se fondant sur un constat selon lequel les familles monoparentales sont de plus en plus nombreuses dans cette ville où elles se butent à des sérieux problèmes de survie. La structure des ménages monoparentaux à Kinshasa se répartit entre célibataires, veufs, séparés ou divorcés. Le nombre d’enfants vivant dans une famille monoparentale progresse partout à travers la ville-province de Kinshasa. Dans cette évolution, il se constate que plus les enfants sont jeunes, plus ils vivent avec leur mère et, plus ils sont âgés, plus ils vivent avec leur père.

We analyze through this study, the phenomenon of single parenthood and its inevitable corollary which is poverty as it manifests itself in the city province of Kinshasa based on the observation that single parent families are more and more numureous in the city province where they face serious survival problems. The structure of single-parent households in Kinshasa is divided between single, widowed, separated or divorced. The number of children living in single-parent families is encreasing throughout the city and province of Kinshasa. In this evolution, we’ve seen that the younger the children are, the more they live with their mother and, the older they are, the more they live with their father.
