Multidisciplinary diagnosis of interstitial lung disease in Zambia using videoconferencing
Abstract
This study reports on the results of two years of regular videoconferences between an interstitial lung disease Centre of Excellence in The Netherlands and The University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, Zambia. This shows that diagnosis of interstitial lung disease in resource-limited settings can be facilitated by multidisciplinary discussion through videoconferencing and that this can have substantial impact on patient management, even though it only requires small investments.
