Abstract

Women play a major role in the lives of their families, friends and
community. Studies have shown that when a mother dies, her community
experiences a decline in health, nutrition, education and economic
outcomes1. Taking care of women’s health in its entirety is vital and should
never be taken lightly. A holistic approach in managing women’s health
is fundamental and should include adequate access to contraception
and availability of various contraceptive methods. Policies governing
and upholding principles related to ensuring availability of a ordable
contraception services should be in place and community obstetriciangynaecologists
should ideally be promoting these.
