Myocarditis in Children: A Review.

Abstract

Myocarditis is an inflammatory cardiac disorder which often follows viral illnesses in children. It is asymptomatic usually and may occasionally prove fatal. It is a diagnosis of exclusion based on high index of suspicion; however, its confirmatory diagnosis is based on endomyocardial biopsy. This review is presented to remind physicians of the disease entity in our environment and highlight also the diagnostic challenges.
