Priapism with Diabetes and Hypertension – A Case Report
Abstract
Clinical case report of a 55 year old policeman with diabetes and systemic hypertension, who presented with acute priapism. There was no obvious precipitating factor except for a poorly controlled blood sugar level. He was managed as a case of hyperglycemic emergency with saline infusion and insulin therapy while the priapism resolved following surgical corporo- spongiosal fistulation. It is being reported because of the rarity of this complication in diabetes.
