Osteotomy induced compartment syndrome: A case Report
Abstract
Acute Compartment Syndrome (ACS) is a known potential complication of trauma and surgery of the leg. Although routine intracompartment pressure monitoring may prevent many cases, a high index of suspicion and aggressive preventive measures are the mainstay of management especially in high-risk patients. In spite of this awareness, a case of ACS an unusual sequele of osteotomy is reported from an Orthopaedics Center with associated significant morbidity and prolonged hospital stay.
