Blount's Disease: A Review of the Literature
Abstract
Blount's disease, also known as tibia vara, is a relatively rare condition which was first described less than 100 years ago. It is one of the less common causes of genu varum in children. The aetiology of this condition is still unknown but a lot of theories have been put forward to explain the pathogenesis of this condition. This review aims to look at the epidemiology of Blount's disease, the various theories of the pathogenesis and the treatment modalities available.
