Temporary Hemiepiphyseodesis for Angular deformity of the Knee using screws and figure-of-8 wiring

Abstract

Temporary hemiepiphyseodesis as a method of achieving correction of angular deformities of the knee in skeletally immature patients has gained popularity in recenttimes. This stems from its relatively minimal access nature and reduced complication rates. Several methods of achieving this have been described in the literature. This short report looks at a relatively novel method of achieving reversible hemiepiphyseodesis and a review of the
literature.
