Abstract
This paper investigated the attitudes of student-teachers toward teaching
practice exercise in Nigerian Colleges of Education. The study employed expofacto method. A total number of 600 students from three colleges of education drawn from Western, Eastern and Northern parts of Nigeria served as the sample for this study. An instrument titled “Attitudes Toward Teaching Practice Questionnaire (ATTPQ)” was designed to elicit information from the
respondents. The three formulated research questions were answered using
descriptive statistics. The results of the analysis showed that student-teachers
displayed positive attitude towards teaching practice but found that there were
some challenges. In view of this,it was recommended that teaching practice
students should also be given financial support as it is done to students on
industrial attachment at other institution of learning.
