A Psychological Approach to Sustaining Mental Health and Enhancing Academic Achievement of Students in Nigerian Universities

Abstract



The prime objective of this paper is to sensitize education psychologists, school counsellors, university administrators, and the government to the stresses university students may face as a direct consequence of the current socio-political and economic problems in this nation. The implications of such problems for students mental health and intellectual functioning are highlighted, and proposals for dealing with such problems are discussed.
