Counselling needs of female prisoners in Nigeria
Abstract
This study was designed to find out the counselling needs of female prisoners in Nigeria. Two hundred female prisoners were randomly selected from both the convicted and those awaiting trial but who have spent a minimum of two years in prison custody. A questionnaire styled Prison Ministration Need Manual (PMNM) was administered to collect necessary data. The t-test statistical analysis was used to analyse the data. Significant difference was found to exist between the counseling needs of convicted female prisoners and those awaiting trial.
