Innovative trends in mathematics education: Implications for global development and social transformation

Abstract

Acquisition of Mathematical knowledge and skills requires effective teaching and learning. The traditional method of teaching that is usually adopted by Mathematics Teachers has been identified as one of the causes of students’ poor performance Mathematics. However, adoptions of innovative strategies have been identified as a way of enhancing learners’ performance in Mathematics. This paper therefore discusses the innovative trends in mathematics education and its implications for global development and social transformation. Conclusion was drawn based on the highlights of the paper.
