Peer Review
Nigerian Journal of Engineering (NJE) publishes original articles from all fields of Engineering. It therefore has ten (10) Associate Editors (AEs). Upon receiving a manuscript from authors, the Editor checks its similarity against plagiarism using ithenticate and use of English. The Editor also ensures that authors’ identities are not included in the manuscript, to pave way for double blind review adopted by NJE. The manuscript is then sent to the relevant AE for assigning reviewers to the manuscript. A timeline of one week is given to the reviewer to indicate interest to review the manuscript or otherwise. If the reviewer accept to review, a timeline of 30 days is given to complete the review and submit back the reviewed manuscript. If the request is declined, another reviewer is invited.
After submitting the reviewed manuscript, the AE analyses the review comments and the manuscript, prepare post-review analysis and present in the NJE monthly Board meeting. Based on the reviewers’ comments and the AE’s recommendation, the Board accept the manuscript with minor or major revisions or rejection. All these review processes are carried on the NJE hosting site by ejmanagers. After the final acceptance, the manuscript is then published in print and online.
