The Nigerian Journal of Communication (TNJC) is a scholarly, academic, professional and interdisciplinary journal of the African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), Nigeria Chapter. ACCE Nigeria is an affiliate of the continental African Council for Communication Education with headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. The President of ACCE Nigeria also serves as the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board Chair of The Nigerian Journal of Communication.
Sources of Support
The Nigerian Journal of Communication charges authors N3,500 (USD 5.00) per edition (print) excluding postage. Authors whose papers appear in an edition are entitled to one free copy (to the corresponding author) but they bear postage cost and tax as applicable. Annual subscription is N7,000 (USD 10.00). TNJC does not charge readers for accessing and downloading materials on it’s website www.tnjc.org.ng.
This journal receives support from Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), a Nigerian government agency responsible for managing tertiary education tax. The journal also receive donation from launchers during unveiling of its physical copies at ACCE Nigeria annual international conferences as well as sale of physical copies.
Peer Review
TNJC uses a double blind peer review policy to assess all papers submitted for publication. In very limited occasions, the paper could be assigned to an expert blind peer reviewer and decision on the paper is based on the outcome of the blind peer review exercise. The Journal will go ahead to accept a paper for publication only when the two blind reviewers recommend acceptance. Whenever there is a tie, one reviewer recommends acceptance and the other recommends outright rejection, the paper will be resent to a third reviewer to ascertain the fate of the paper/article or book review.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Publication Scheduling
This journal publishes two issues in one volume per year.
General
The Nigerian Journal of Communication welcomes well-research articles from any part of the world are welcome in this peer-reviewed journal, including reviews of current books that are related to communication in Nigeria, Africa, and the world in general. The Journal welcomes advertisements which are, for now, publishable at negotiable but competitive rates. Interested advertisers and sponsors should contact the Editor-in-Chief for details.
