Peer Review
This guide is intended to elicit important information from the reviewers to enable the editorial board take a decision on whether to accept or reject a paper. The essence of peer review is to improve the work and improve the quality of the journal. It is therefore expected that the reviewers report should in addition to any other information contain the following:
- Has the author made valuable and original contribution to the subject matter of the paper?
- Is the paper clear, coherent and readable?
- Does the paper contain a tenable and well developed argument?
- Does the paper demonstrate awareness of current developments and debates on the subject matter? (E.g. Recent decisions of the courts that may have change the position of the law and/or amendments to laws or introduction of new laws).
- Did the author properly cite all reference materials and/or does the paper conform to the recommended referencing guide, OSCOLA 4th Edition?
- Recommendations which could be either: Accept, Minor revision, Major revision, Reject
- General comments to the Editorial Board. (Usually this will contain additional information from the reviewer that he/she thinks will interest the editors and help the editors, but it’s not for the consumption of the author.
- Comments to the author. (Usually this will contain details of issues the reviewer wants the author to address especially when the author is recommending major revision, minor revision or rejection.)
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Publication Scheduling
The journal publishes two issues per year.
