Abstract
Several biochemical and physiological roles have been postulated for vitamin C, although few have been established. Besides, Vitamin C is an essential vitamin that is derived only from exogenous sources and this makes its role in human health to become pertinent. This is in view of the current depression in global economy and the attendant hard-times, making the choice of nutritionally balanced diets almost impossible. The biochemical, physiological and therapeutic roles of vitamin C is here reviewed, thus providing further insights into the function of vitamin C in health.
