Peer Review
The Malawi Journal of Economics (MAJE) (ISSN: 2312-9204) is a peer-reviewed journal published at least once a year. MAJE has an international Advisory Board of experts undertaking research in Malawi and Africa. MAJE aims at publishing high quality articles focusing on the application of economic analysis to a wide range of topics in different branches of economics with relevance to economic and policy issues. It is of special interest to Malawian and African academics, students, policy makers, development experts and others interested in the Malawian economy and other African economies. Articles submitted for publication in MAJE should primarily focus on presenting results of empirical and policy-relevant economic research. Theoretical articles that contribute to better understanding of economic issues are also encouraged.
The manuscript is submitted to the journal with the names. However, the information about the author(s), institutional affiliations and acknowledgements only appear on a separate cover page. Editors, anonymise the manuscript before it is sent to at least two anonymous referees, who are experts in relevant fields of economics. When the review reports are received, editors evaluate them and make a decision which is sent to the authors. Decisions fall into four categories: Accept, minor revision, major revision with possible re-review, and reject.
