The butterflies (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea) of the north-eastern Democratic Republic of Congo
Abstract
A checklist of the butterflies (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea) of the north-eastern Democratic Republic of Congo is provided. The list was compiled from records made by the author as well as from historical records and the records of a number of field workers. The presence records are separated into five fairly distinct regions, namely the Ituri Forest, Semuliki Valley in the Albertine Rift, Central Forest Block, Mount Mitumba and Mount Blue.
