Wole Soyinka's craft in the dramaturgy of Femi Osofisan: The examples of a and chattering and the song once upon four robbers

Abstract

This paper establishes and illustrates Wole Soyinka's influence on Femi Osofisan's dramaturgy. We have also discussed the political ideologies of Wole Soyinka and Osofisan in the bid to demonstrate areas of similarity and difference. We find that despite major differences in ideological positions, Osofisan's dramaturgy has been
greatly influenced by Soyinka's craft and these borrowings from Soyinka have helped to fortify and improve Osofisan's plays in script and in performance.
