Foreign trade and economic growth in Algeria Econometric study for the period from 1990 to 2020

Abstract

This study aims to measure the impact of foreign trade on economic growth in Algeria over the period from 1980 to 2018 using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL), to achieve this goal we have relied on the following variables: gross domestic product as a representative variable of economic growth, exports and imports as a representative variables of foreign trade. The study found that there are a positive and significant effect of exports and imports on economic growth in Algeria during the study period in the short and long terms.
