Proposal of a scale for measuring user satisfaction in the use of public transport in Algiers

Abstract

The objective of our research is to contribute to the reflection on the satisfaction of the of public transport users' in the context of the dominance of very small-business. We propose a scale for measuring user satisfaction to improve the governance of public transport. To do this, we have used the data from the results of the household survey on travel and transport that we conducted at the end of 2019 in 38 municipalities in Algiers province. The statistical analysis of the data allowed us to extract a measurement scale of the satisfaction of the user of public transport in the city of Algiers, this scale is composed of three essential elements according to the degree of their importance according to the perception of this user: the elements related to the notion of time, the elements related to the accessibility to the infrastructure and to the information and the elements related to the comfort.
