Strategies for Managing Value at the University

Abstract

Universities are in the knowledge industry. There could be value in applying private sector modalities in the management of these institutions. The ten strategies presented are seen in the context of a changing economic environment that promotes deregulation and competition. The strategies are self-reinforcing and form a virtuous cycle that leads to excellence.
