Simulation of an Aqua-Ammonia Intermittent Solar Refrigerator
Abstract
Performance of an aqua-ammonia absorption solar refrigerator operating intermittently was simulated using a simple thermodynamic model. Input variables were generation and evaporation temperatures, varying from 323 to 393 K and 263 to 298 K, respectively. Calculations were performed for coefficient of performance, solution concentrations, evaporator pressure and refrigerant effect of 2880 kJ/day. The results are found to be satisfactory considering the highly non-ideal nature of the system.
